The Challenge
With one location and similar products, we had to differentiate each ad through lighting, movement, and visual treatment.
The Kube travel bag uses stop-motion inspired effects to showcase the range of available colors. We shot the bags in multiple passes, using a laser grid to maintain consistent orientation across plates. This gave us the flexibility to animate each bag individually and create playful pop-in effects.
For the Mid-stripe Masters Series bag, we wanted to show multiple bags in frame. We tracked the camera motion and extended the set in post-production to create more visual space. We also rotoscoped the bag on a turntable, which gave us full control over the background in post, keeping the focus clean and simple.
For the Matchplay bag, we took cues from minimal, dramatic product reveals. The lighting was controlled and precise, meaning lots of negative fill and shaped light to highlight specific features. We moved tube lights over the bags by hand to add depth and intrigue.
The Mid-stripe collection used colorful backdrops and more dynamic camera movements to set it apart. We rigged a probe lens on a dana dolly for dramatic movement, which required creative camera mounting and precise lighting to match the rest of the scene.
